Our Abundant Earth

The statement of how abundance surrounds us in America in 2025 may generate a questioning or dismissive glance until you dig deeper into that very true reality.  Let’s look past the current government induced distortions and exaggerations that are based not on reality, but on fear.  And that is exactly the point.  When one relies on fear as a motivator, the only way to ensure control of a group or populace is to imply that there is “not enough” to go around.  Relying on a mentality of lack relies on playing on people’s fears of inadequacy, not having enough and survival of the fittest. To understand the madness behind the manipulation, one must understand how easily and often fear is used on a routine basis.

If this statement and definition does not accurately sum up where we are right now, nothing else will.  Daily, we are bombarded with images and information that convey the message that you are not safe…there isn’t enough (fill in the blank) to go around.  There are dangerous, vicious people hiding among you. Yes, there are, but they are stalking us for money and bounties, in masks and full military cosplay. We the people have been monetized.  Visuals of masked and armed individuals disappearing people off the streets have become an everyday occurrence. Are they ICE, or bounty hunters and fabulists enacting out fantasies of law enforcement and bounty hunting?  We don’t really know.  But what is for sure is that this awful, fearsome, hate filled imagery is being used to terrorize, racially profile our neighbors and manipulate our psyche; to make us feel unsafe, and make us able to be paralyzed and controlled by that fear.    Here, I’m thinking back to the Wizard of Oz movie, and the ‘Great and Terrible Oz’ with his gadgets and pyrotechnics, who was revealed to be a little man afraid of his own shadow, by Toto who knocked down the screen hiding the fake wizard and exposed the lie of “The Great and Terrible Oz’.  Please remember that when you think not only of the government and its agencies, but also of the people who can only feel powerful when they are behind a mask or manipulating others they are pledged to protect.  The feelings of insecurity and lack of safety are being used for effect to control and manipulate us all.  Such is the MO of authoritarians, fascists and eugenicists.

Fact based information has become more difficult to find in the face of censorship and pre-emptive media acquiescence to government policy and PR.  During one of the worst episodes of natural disaster, one of the elemental necessities of life, water, became a force of absolute destruction, fear and death during the floods in central Texas and New Mexico.  The horror and loss of life are real and for many of us, very personal, as friends and relatives have been in harm’s way.  But what I’ve tried to focus on during this tragedy is the kindness

of friends and neighbors. Energetically, water represents emotions.  Like the floods, sometimes emotions can take us over and sweep us away.  By examining our emotions objectively, we can also get an inside scoop on what and how we value things and situations.  Like the adage, where your heart is there, lies your treasure

I found strength and joy in stories of neighbors in Texas pulling together to find the children and adults that were lost, looking for and rescuing any humans and animals who had survived the flash floods.  I focused on the fact that despite the bitter and contentious trade and tariff impositions between America and Mexico, that President Scheinbaum of Mexico did not hesitate to send firefighters and first responders skilled in swift water rescues to help their neighbors to the north in Texas.  She didn’t ask for permission but acted out of a desire to help her fellow human and neighbors.  Divisions were swept away like the flood waters, revealing the bonds of humanity and life that join us all.  The people in the flood struck regions accepted this assistance with gratitude and warmth. Help and resources were not hoarded, but generously shared. Which brings me to another observation.  Building and maintaining tight Community bonds is an ideal way to fight fear-based subjugation and division. We are rich and abundant in community.

Yes, leaning on community is once again the answer.  When we come from behind the screens and masks and out IRL (In REAL Life), we get to know each other and find that we aren’t so different from one another.  Getting to know your neighbors rather than othering them builds bonds that are intangible yet strong.  My experience with this has been with the number of people I’ve met while walking my puppy the last few months.  That circle of contacts in the neighborhood has grown even larger since my neighbors have also gotten to know and chat with my awesome pet sitter/dog walker, who genuinely loves and cares for my fur babies as he would his own.  We chat about the day, the weather, and compare notes on the neighborhood wildlife (coyotes, bobcats) and any changes in our area.  We don’t chat about doom and disaster, but I am confident that if there were any type of emergencies, the bonds we have made while chatting during dog walks would morph into concern for each other’s well-being.  That type of neighborly friendship springs from an abundance of the spirit of connection and togetherness that you just can’t put a price on.

Exaggeration and hyperbole are convenient tools used to induce fear and redirect attention from the presence of abundance and unity.  Inflammation of emotions and trumpeted talking points are often used to overcome the quiet truth of facts and reality.   The reality is that the United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world.  Food, water and basics of life are not things that are unattainable.  However, the systems of distribution and economics are manipulated and used to artificially stratify resources and create artificial lack and the “us vs them” dynamic that gives rise to conspiracy theories, exaggerations, tribalism and dynamics designed to incite fear and division.  Check beneath the surface to find the facts and true motivations.  Try to understand where the information is coming from and understand the bias of those presenting the information.  Recognize that control dynamic, politics and polarization of life into artificial ‘us vs them’ dichotomies is a tool to draw our attention from the goodness and abundance that is around us to a narrative that makes us be afraid, divided and easily controlled.   Before you go down the path of believe in in the broadcast propaganda of division and lack, take some time and go into nature, and appreciate the abundance, diversity, synergy, and balance around us. The forest is an interdependent wonder of unity and cooperation between flora and fauna.  Realize that the birds overhead and squirrels on the ground exist and thrive on the abundance of the earth.  That option is available to us also if we take a moment to look around and focus on the abundance of resources available to us. Truly there is enough not only for us, but also to share with those in the human community who are less fortunate, or in areas of real famine, drought and lack.   Looking within for centering and unity will always give us the truth of what is and

information about the real nature of life.

We have all been going through stressful disorienting times. Sometimes the most constructive thing to do is turn off the electronics and go for a walk and look at the abundance and harmony around us. We are stronger together, and stronger when we are acting in a way to help each other, rather than compete.  There is truly more than enough to go around, and we are more alike than we are different.
