The Energy of Fearful Decision Making

The how and the why of the factors involved in our decision-making process are critical to the overall energy projected by those decisions. What’s desirable is to make decisions that are empowered, because those decisions generate and come from a positive frame of mind and energy. There is a huge energetic difference in energy between the statements:
“I don’t want any more tough workdays on Fridays” and
“I love it when my Fridays are mellow and easy; it makes for a great start to the weekend.”
The Universe totally misses the “I don’t want” and hands you the Friday from hell, not out of malice, but because the overall sentiment that you expressed was about tough workdays on Fridays. Focusing on what you don’t want, which is coming from a negative energy mindset, will get you more of what you don’t want. Don’t believe me? Remember that adage I share a few months back about how what you focus on expands? That’s what happens when you delineate what you don’t want. And yes, saying that “I’m sick and tired of X” is a statement in that selfsame negative energy. So, in addition to reframing what we say and how we express what we want, we must look at how some of our societal programming makes the negative energy statement the go to or default way of thinking about things. In essence, this is the energy of fearful decision making, where the focus is on what we don’t want (negative), rather than on what we desire (positive).
First of all is a concept that many people may not have given much thought to:
We are spirits having a human experience.
Take all the time you need to think about that statement, then I’ll break it down a little for you. We actual are beings that have three bodies:
Our Physical body (external)
Our Emotional body (internal)
Our Mental body (Where our thoughts and emotions are internal and can create our reality, which is external.)
That’s all fairly clear, even if you have not necessarily thought of that division or classification of “bodies.” The twist comes when we realize that our societal programming emphasizes trust in the external. The phrase “seeing is believing” is the first that comes to my mind. It also means that rather than focusing on our emotions when we think of something or when we contemplate taking an action, we focus externally on what we see, rather than what we feel. Our society generates movement based on stimulating what we see, then asking us to believe what we are seeing. The reality is that when it comes to manifesting something desired and desirable in our lives, we first must feel it first BEFORE we see it. The latter involves turning within and engaging our emotions (remember emotions are Energy in Motion) and generating a feeling state that will in turn shape our reality. The problem comes when we realize that is NOT how our society works.
From everything from advertising to insurance to healthcare, everything in our society is predicated on emphasizing that we all are competing for limited resources. Also, there is the commonly held concept that our actions (or inactions) will be judged. How many times have you heard “You don’t want to be last…or a loser. Or left out. Or without item x.” You get the idea of how FOMO has been essentially weaponized to keep us mired in feelings of lack and inadequacy. And since these feelings of lack and inadequacy are our primary emotion. The Universe gives us exactly what we don’t want, which is more reasons to feel inadequate and in lack and “don’t have.” When we add the fact that our perceptions (right or wrong) create our reality, we have a situation that all too often results in us living in a hell of our own creation. Yes. Our often-inaccurate perceptions (based on previous experience, history, whatever) can create the very reality that we wish to avoid. It also sets up to chase the shiny object over there, or long to be in another yard where the grass is surely greener. We unfortunately live in a tangled web of illusions and energetic connections that generate:
Fear
Anxiety
Pessimism
Unworthiness, and
Focus on past experiences.
So how do you avoid making decisions from a negative frame of mind, or based on negative emotions? There are a several ways to accomplish this, some based on actions, others based on healing and deconstructing habitual thoughts and responses:
Learning to listen to your inner voice, through meditation (more on that next month; and meditation is totally not only about sitting your ass on a cushion in the lotus position).
Become aware of your thoughts, and the fact that our reality is a reflection of our internal thoughts. One of my favorite books, with so much truth ringing through it is Illusions: Misadventures of a Reluctant Messiah, by Richard Bach. The quote I remember that explains this connection of our thoughts to our reality is:
“Argue for your limitations, and they are yours.”
Raise your vibration – A key aspect of raising your vibration involves that you face your limiting beliefs and blocks and realize they are frequently not true. Another way of looking at this is that it’s like cleaning your internal dirty windows, to allow in the sunshine, and see things clearly. Once you identify the false and limiting beliefs, you must identify the emotional responses associated with those beliefs and disconnect them. Another part of this healing process is asking “How does it serve me to have this belief?”
Ask yourself “What would it be like or how would you feel if you believe you are worthy?” This is really a tricky one because many societal and religious institutions convey an attitude that asserts that “You are not worthy.” The problem with this type of mindset is that emphasizing a person’s unworthiness can make the individual susceptible to external control and manipulation, in addition to fostering and emphasizing low self-worth.
Why is all of this important? Because the law of energy resonance says that the things that come to us are things that we are in resonance with. So, if you want to have improved outcomes, you must maintain thoughts and attitudes reflective of the positive, improved outcome you desire. The key is focusing on and maintaining those positive thoughts and focus on your desired outcome as the key step to making that outcome be your reality. We must dream another dream.
In addition to taking a deep dive into meditation, the meditative state, and how to attain it, next month we will learn how to make our positive outcomes become the reality that we live in. We will learn how:
Positive Energy leads to Empowered Decisions and living the life of our Dreams rather than trudging through the nightmares we would rather not dwell in.
